About marrakech-balloon.com
marrakech-balloon.com is an independent guide to the hot air balloon flights sold for Marrakech. This page explains who runs it, how it is paid for and where the information comes from.
Who is behind this site
marrakech-balloon.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He builds and maintains a small portfolio of guides to day tours and attraction tickets. The pages are researched, written and updated by one person, the same one who answers the e-mails.
What this site does
Balloon listings for Marrakech look almost identical: same title pattern, same breakfast, same certificate. The differences sit in the details, in the size of the basket, the launch time and the sunrise, the minutes actually spent in the air, and which option a low price on the platform refers to. Several listings sell a ticket to watch the balloons without flying next to the flight itself. We compare the flight option every time and say which one. We are not a booking agent; every reservation happens on the booking platform.
How we earn money
When you book through one of our links, the platform pays us a commission out of its margin. Your price stays the same. No operator pays for a position on this site, and the tables are ordered by number of reviews.
Where our data comes from
Prices, ratings and review counts come from our booking partners’ APIs and refresh automatically. For listings where the cheapest option is not a flight, the site tracks the price of the flight option. Baskets, flight times, inclusions and weather rules come from the operators’ product pages; background on licences and sanctions comes from Moroccan news reports. Found something out of date? Write to us and we will correct it.
What we are not
We do not fly balloons and we are not connected to any operator mentioned here. We cannot promise good weather or a sunrise, and neither can the operators. For binding information on pickup times, weight limits and weather cancellations, the operator’s own messages take precedence.
