What a balloon flight costs
The low starting prices on balloon listings usually belong to a ticket for watching. Here is what the flight itself costs and what can come on top.
Three things move the price of a Marrakech balloon morning: how many people share the basket, which wave of the morning you take off with, and what is added to the flight, from a camel ride to breakfast served in the air. The plain, the route and the time in the air stay the same.

Where the low starting price comes from
Many balloon listings sell a ticket for people who come along to watch the take-off and stay on the ground. That option is the cheapest on the booking page, so the platform shows it as the starting price of the whole listing. These are the viewing options on the listings compared here, in the words of the booking page:

What the flight price covers
Hotel pickup, the drive to the launch area, a snack or tea before take-off, breakfast after landing and a flight certificate are part of nearly every listing compared here. Most listings also name insurance in their inclusions. Palms Ballooning is the only listing here that includes gratuities.
What you may pay on the day
Photos are the most common extra. BallOOning Marrakech lists a photographer and a drone as not included, Ciel d’Afrique lists photos, AtlasMontgolfière a professional photo shoot, Paradise Ballooning photos and videos. Travellers report pictures and drone footage being sold on the day, so take some cash in dirhams if you want them, and a tip for the crew if they looked after you.
Pickup can cost extra too. BallOOning Marrakech charges per vehicle for hotels outside Marrakech, and its private flight does not cover addresses outside the set pickup area. Passengers above the weight limit of Marrakech By Air or MarrakeshBallooning contact the operator first, and both say an extra fee is possible. Marrakech Dream Ballooning keeps it short: anything not named in the inclusions is extra.
Dates that cost more
Balloon prices are set per date and launch, so the amount for your morning appears only when you choose it on the booking page.
Worth the early start, say passengers
Guests weigh the early start against the flight and the breakfast, and one recommends the drone video, which is paid as an extra. One guest found the morning a little underwhelming but liked the guide.
